Eagles Battle For 3-0 Win Over Falcons
Lancaster High remained unbeaten in Golden League girls volleyball, winning three tough games from the Palmdale Falcons, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.

Lancaster led 7-6 in the opening game, and then scored 8 unanswered points, bringing it to 15-6. The Lady Falcons fought back to within 3, but Lancaster locked the game up with 2 back-to-back aces for a final score of 25-19.

In the 2nd game, the Eagles led 10-9, but Palmdale fell behind by six, and then bounced back to tie game at 22-22. From there, the Eagles scored the final three points to win, 25-22.

Both teams earned some tough points with great saves in the third game, as they battled to a 14-14 tie. Once again Lancaster rallied with 6 unanswered points led by Starks' back to back aces in a game that had 5 Eagle aces. Palmdale came back to within one point 20-19, but the Eagles took over and won 25-20 to earn the 3-0 win.

LANCASTER - Outside hitter Roxy Neely had 15 kills and five aces to lead the Eagles to a 25-19, 25-22, 25-20 win over the Falcons.

Seferina Starks had five kills and three aces for Lancaster, which improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Golden League.

Eagles coach David Gutierrez said the victory showed how much his team's passing has improved recently.

"We played well," he said. "This was kind of a breakthrough for us as far as some things we've been trying to work on.
