SYLMAR - The Littlerock High School volleyball team placed second at the Sylmar tournament Saturday night at Sylmar High School.

The Lobos (7-3) lost to Canyon in the championship match, 25-23, after playing several matches, beginning at 8 a.m.

Middle blocker Pricsilla Hall and outside hitter Nikki Castrellon were both named to the all-tournament team.

"(Hall) had a really good day," Littlerock coach Teri Watts said. "They really played as a team today. It's the best I've seen them play. The last game, it was kind of back and fourth with a lot of defense.

"The girls enjoyed it. I think if it went a little bit long, we could have pulled it out. It was kind of nerve racking to be in the championship game. It was a long day. It was a good day for them.

"Today, I've got to say, it was more practice than anything. I think we will be ready to play Quartz Hill again. They know what it takes to win now."

Littlerock beat Lancaster, 25-14, to advance in the championship bracket. Lancaster finished in fifth place.

The Lobos won their pool, competing with 14 other teams at Birmingham High in the 30-team tournament.

"We just continued to win," Watts said.

Littlerock hosts Palmdale on Tuesday.

"I think Palmdale has the best hitters in the league," Watts said.
