ONTARIO - The Lobos made quick work of Ontario winning 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-21) in the first round of the Division III-AA playoffs on Tuesday.

"The girls played hard," coach Terri Watts said. "They really wanted to win."

ackie Rivera and Kim Rosales each had eight digs, Niukki Castrellon had 13 kills, while Cori Haynes had 14 assists.

"We made a lot of unforced errors," Watts said. "But we had scrappy defense so we were able to come back and win."

RIVERSIDE - The Spirits (10-7) won the first two games, but ultimately lost a Division IV-AA first-round match, 3-2 (23-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 15-8).

Lia Tuiasosopo and C.J. Millar both had 13 kills. Millar also had four blocks and Tori Mischel finished with 23 digs.

"The little things that hurt us all year came back and haunted us in the last three games," Paraclete coach Margaret Neill said. "The lack of passing and the serve - the most important things.

"We played awesome ball the first two games and part of the third. The passing was great. It was a good match. It was very intense. The gym was very loud. It was hard to hear anything."
