The Lobos communicated well, and had effective passing and serving in their three set win, 25-17, 25-20, 25-23, over Knight.
Despite how they looked, Littlerock coach Teri Watts thought the match wasn't the Lobos' best performance.
"We played a little shaky tonight," Watts said. "We go through these periods where we're strong or we're weak."
Littlerock started out strong in the first set. Terra Parker, who had four aces, served 11 consecutive points to start the set and put the Lobos ahead for good.
"She's got a great serve, so when she focuses, her serve is on and it's great," Watts said.
The second set was much closer for the Hawks, who played with greater intensity. But Knight was plagued by service and hitting errors and let the Lobos slip ahead for the win.
In the third set, the Lobos pulled ahead to an 18-11 lead.
Just when the Hawks looked like they were out of the match, they received a sideout and handed the ball to Jessica Porges. Porges served four consecutive points to put the Hawks within two.
The Hawks tied the game at 21, but some passing miscommunication put the Lobos ahead and gave them the win.
"Our problem as a team is we think we can just show up and play well," Knight coach Danny Henderson said.
"Games like this aren't won on the day of the game, they're won on the practice days. And the team that practices harder is the team that wins."
Nikki Castrellon led the Lobos with 13 kills, four digs and two aces, but also had several serving and hitting errors.
Porges led the Hawks in kills with seven, while Anttanisha Moton and Tanika Hubbard had six kills apiece.
Despite the loss, Henderson said there were some positives for the Hawks.
"We served well, we killed well. We actually had a lot more kills than errors," Henderson said.
Knight (2-3) next faces Eastside on Thursday in what could be a fight for fourth place.
"We have to play well, they're not going to give us the game," Henderson said. "We have potential."
The Lobos are now 5-0 in Golden League play and will take on undefeated Quartz Hill on Thursday.
"We're ready for Quartz Hill, even if we were a little shaky," Watts said.
