AVC volleyball keeping it local

The Antelope Valley College volleyball coach has received six oral commitments from around the Valley. That group includes libero Nicole Moran (Lancaster High School), outside hitter Ashley Marroquin (Mojave), outside hitter Kahli Remy (Quartz Hill), middleblocker Tatiana Wesley (Antelope Valley), outside hitter Kalyn Hardcastle (Antelope Valley) and Paige Hobson (Desert Christian).

"I'm excited about all of them," Cwayna said. "These kids are some players."

The crop of current high school seniors continue a trend for Cwayna of putting out teams comprised primarily of Valley residents.

"I like all local kids," she said. "I want parents to come be able to see them play and friends and boyfriends come see them play."

Marroquin gives the Marauders a hard-hitter, Remy will create some consistency in their lineup and Moran is a quality libero.
