05/14/07 - Local U-15 girls volleyball team competes in Div I Tournament

Hey Guys,

In case you haven't heard, the head coaches from AVVC and Club Nai'a, as well as some of the other Varsity coaches from around the area, all sat down to discuss the possibility of a merge. 

WHY? 

 #1--to get the best coaches with the best players all in the same place to create the best teams we can from our local talent. 

#2--to shift from being mainly developmental clubs to creating a united club that will focus on TOP LEVEL volleyball as well as developmental. 

#3--so our local talent will have a highly competitive place to play without having to drive 1-2 hours and pay twice as much.

#4--to encourage the "team" concept by not focusing on 1 player but rather giving all players focus by creating strong teams. 

ANY CLUB can start up and tell kids they should be the star or they should be "showcased" but the reality is, if all the local talent gets in the same gym...and the varsity coaches are collectively evaluating...a truer representation of an athletes talent will come forth with little bias(notice I did not say none because I am realistic and honest.) 

Many hours of negotiation have gone into this new union...the club will simply be called  AVVC/ Nai'a. 

Bringing the best of what AVVC has to offer together with the best that Nai'a has to offer in terms of coaching, players, philosophy, family feel, cost, etc. 

We have the talent to compete with the best in other areas, especially if we stick together.  Rather than being the antelope valley against the antelope valley...we want to put the AV's best against other regions best.  www.clubnaia.com has our tryout info and http://www.avhub.net/AD_AVVC.htm  has the info for AVVC tryouts.  NOW, the talent won't be divided and we can be EVEN STRONGER than before. 
 

There will be 8-9 varsity coaches coaching in this club along with several other qualified local coaches.
